Recently, the Arkema Group announced a new emission reduction target: by 2030, direct greenhouse gas emissions will be reduced by 48.5% compared with 2019, and indirect greenhouse gas emissions will be reduced by 54% compared with 2019. The new target has been certified by the independent global Science-based Targets organization (SBTi).

"We are very proud that the Group's new goals for 2030 have achieved SBTi certification," said Arkema Chairman and CEO Reynave. energy efficiency, and develop low-carbon energy procurement.

To support this decarbonization plan, Arkema expects to invest 400 million euros in decarbonization plans by 2030. Regarding indirect greenhouse gas emissions, Arkema will take actions across the entire value chain, and plans to reduce emissions from 152 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent in 2019 to 70 million tons in 2030. To achieve this goal, Arkema will increase its use of renewable or recycled raw materials, choose raw materials with a lower carbon footprint, reduce production activities with the largest emissions, and develop recycling channels for polymer products.
